The Starfish Project

I've talked here once before about the charity that's closest to my heart and it's modern-day slavery, particularly sex slaves. A friend of mine recently moved to Hebei, China. Her name is Lorilee, and she blogs over at Loving Simple Living. She let me know about an organization where she volunteers, called The Starfish Project. They find women who are being exploited, befriend them, and give them a way out by providing a range of social, emotional and practical opportunities. Which means that girls live in the shelter, receive counseling, get work training, and have a job to provide income for themselves. 

Their job is to create beautiful jewelry. Take a look:
